Count of Atlantic Salmon in Rivers (Index)
Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) are captured and counted at sites in various rivers throughout the Maritime Provinces. Salmon are counted at various fences, fishways, trapnets and dams.
Counts of Atlantic salmon are presented for two size groups:
- Salmon: fork length >= 63 cm
- Grilse: fork length < 63 cm.
The map of salmon counting sites identifies the locations of counting facilities throughout the region. Data on salmon and grilse counts are available for each location on the map.
A summary table of cumulative data by rivers surveyed can be viewed for salmon and grilse.
