Additional Information
Sir Henri-Charles-Wilfrid Laurier (1841-1919). Born in Saint-Lin, Quebec, Sir Wilfrid Laurier was the seventh Prime Minister of Canada and the first of French Canadian heritage. A successful and influential politician, Laurier had the longest unbroken term in office of any Prime Minister, and would serve as a member of parliament for close to forty five years. His policies of expanding confederation, unifying French and English Canada, and supporting individual liberty were benchmarks of his leadership, and his overwhelming popularity.
