Additional Information
Dr. Vadim Vladykov (1923-1988) was a Canadian of Russian origin who studied in France and who settled in Quebec in the early 1930'S. He served as director of the Biology Department of the Department of Fisheries in Quebec from 1943 until 1958, before ending his career at the University (Francophone) of Ottawa. He was one of the first advocates for the preservation of the Beluga whales in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
