Additional Information
Ablert Henry George Grey (1851-1917). Born in England, Grey was the 4th Earl Grey and the ninth Governor General of Canada. During his tenure as Governor General of Canada, there was an increase in immigration and economic development in Canada. As a supporter of the arts, Grey created the Grey Competition for Music and Drama. One of his most well known legacies is the Grey Cup, which is awarded to the championship team in the Canadian Football League. This legacy earned Grey a place in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1963.
