Additional Information
Captain Robert Abram Bartlett (1875-1946). Born in Brigus, Newfoundland, Bartlett was an avid navigator and Arctic explorer. Leading more than forty expeditions into the Arctic, Bartlett was the first person sail north of the 88° parallel. He was awarded various medals and honours, including the highest award from the Royal Geographical Society for his heroism, for walking 700 miles over ice to rescuing his stranded companions
